Magnet Glow Alabaster
This new luxurious version of our Magnet Glow is made from sturdy alabaster (calcite) which gives the luminaire a beautiful marble look and feel. The 2700K and 3000K colour temperature options radiate a soft and warm glow through the space the fixture illuminates. This unique combination of translucency, texture, and color makes alabaster a timeless choice for creating elegant and atmospheric lighting solutions.
The unique beauty of alabaster in lighting design
The natural translucency of alabaster allows for a soft, diffuse distribution of light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Each piece of natural alabaster stone is uniquely veined, ensuring that no two examples are ever the same. Gypsum alabaster is a translucent type of stone composed of partially crystallized gypsum. It is typically found in nodular forms in regions such as Italy, Spain, and Egypt. The outer surface of alabaster nodules often features irregularities, with clay residues and earthy inclusions embedded within the stone. These natural impurities are a hallmark of alabaster, contributing to its distinctive charm.
Not to be confused with marble
Alabaster is a semi-crystalline form of gypsum, differing from marble, which is a type of limestone it often resembles. Unlike many other stones extracted from quarries, alabaster is discovered in nodules beneath the ground. Depending on its origin, the color of the alabaster can range from white and yellow to brown, with some varieties leaning towards pink or gray tones.
